Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods , Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.49% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ), which rose 3.04% or 0.28 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ) added 2.64% or 0.22 points to end at 8.37 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI: EDP ) was up 1.30% or 0.04 points to 3.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI: BCP ), which fell 1.10% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.58 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ) declined 0.65% or 0.02 points to end at 3.69 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI: NVGR ) was down 0.24% or 0.01 points to 3.39.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.04% or 0.28 to 9.50.
Brent oil for July delivery was down 1.86% or 1.14 to $60.15 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.11% or 1.23 to hit $57.06 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 2.27% or 73.64 to trade at $3,316.94 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 99.74.
